Great Expectations Childcare

Every month we will have a different theme that leads up to a day where we celebrate the theme at the end of the month.  Surrounding this theme will be crafts, baking, and imagination play that we will work on a few times a week.  If you have any ideas about themes or theme ideas please let me know.  I was thinking about using the obvious: spring, fall, winter, summer, Christmas, Easter, St Patty's Day, Valentines Day, and other more random themes such as pirates, princesses/ knights, unicorns/ dragons and perhaps more educational themes surrounding Earth Day.

 Aside from themes we will be:

Almost everyday we head over to one of the many parks nearby.  We also go on field trips a few Mondays every month.  We've went swimming, to the library, the zoo and I would like to take the kids to the planetarium, the science centre, the Glenbow and our local firehouse. 

Allowing the children to free play- it encourages children to use their imagination to create a place or activity that they want to be engaged in.

Baking (cupcakes for birthdays)

Craft projects (that will be age appropriate and will often be focused on our theme (eg Christmas tree decorations, egg decorating, making eye patches for Pirates,)

Play dough (homemade)

Circle time/Story time

Games (Tag, Hide and Seek, soccer, croquet)
